.       Air Marshal Sadique  Abubakar,

STREAKS OF SUCCESS have attended multiple operations of Operation Accord and the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI in continuation of clearance operations against Bandits and Cattle rustlers  in parts of Zamfara State.

According to the release issued in Abuja Sunday, June 7 by Major General John Enenche,
Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Defence Headquarters, the troops of Operation KATSINA  under Operation ACCORD on 5 June 2020 intercepted a Bandits' Gun-runner and Logistics supplier. Items recovered include 496 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and one Bajaj Motorcycle in Mararraba Maigora in Faskari LGA.

The statement further revealed that in a cordon and search  operation at Yauyau and Zandam villages the troops also neutralized 3 Bandits and captured 4. Items recovered include 7 Dane guns, 3  mobile phones and two Motorcycles.

Major General Enenche stated in the release that those captured were in custody for interrogations.

He said on 6 June 2020 troops engaged fleeing bandits along Dunya- Dangeza road and recovered 2 Dane guns and 4 Motorcycles, adding that the same troops destroyed the Daban Jabi camp of a notorious Bandit Leader known as Dan Jangeru.

"Also at Warnu village 2 bandits were neutralized while others escaped with gunshot wounds, one AK  47 rifle was recovered in the process."

In other different operations, Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI executed air strikes at two separate bandits' camps  at Tsibiri and Manya, in Zurmi Local Government Area (LGA) in Zamfara State  and scores of armed bandits were neutralized and their weapons destroyed.

The release by Major General Enenche says the success was recorded yesterday, 6 June 2020, as part of offensive operations of the Operation ACCORD to rid the North West and North Central States of armed banditry.

The Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Defence Headquarters stated that the air interdiction mission at Tsibiri, which is located 15km East of Zurmi, was executed on the heels of credible Human Intelligence (HUMINT) reports indicating that the camp, with its clusters of thatched huts nestled close to a group of trees, was being used by the bandits to house their fighters and store their weapons and ammunition.

He said, accordingly, 2 Nigerian Air Force attack helicopters were dispatched to engage the location scoring accurate hits on the target area leading to the destruction of the structures and the weapons and ammunition stored in them as well as the neutralization of bandits in the huts and surrounding bushes.

"The attack helicopters later conducted an air strike on another camp South of Manya, which also resulted in the killing of more armed bandits, including some of their leaders, as they gathered for a meeting at the location.

Both Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, and the Military High  Command have congratulated Operation HADARIN DAJI and the Air Component of  Operation ACCORD for their dexterity professionalism and commitment at ridding the country of terrorists and bandits, directing them to remain resolute.

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) enjoined the Air Component of  Operation ACCORD to continue to provide close air support for ongoing ground operations towards accomplishing the directives of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) to restore normalcy in the North West and North Central Zones of the Country.

The general public is  requested to continue  to provide timely and credible information that would assist in eliminating bandits and other criminal elements in the Country.
