OGUN STATE GOVERNMENT has instituted 188 projects covering the ISEYA development pillars in the Yewa areas of Ogun State in the last 12 months, with a reassurance to accord priority to the completion of projects with increased revenue potentials.
According to the statement released in Abeokuta and made available to thedispatch by Kehinde Balogun,
Press Officer, Ministry of Budget and Planning, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr. Olaolu Olabimtan (picturd above) revealed this at the 2024-2026 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and 2024 Annual budget Town Hall meeting Tuesday in Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government, reiterating the unwavering commitment of the present administration towards the completion of all ongoing infrastructural developments in the area,and across the state.
Olabimtan noted that the town hall meeting tagged "Citizens Engagement" was all about good governance, service delivery and its satisfaction, effective feedback mechanisms as well as ensuring citizens participation among others.
He maintains that the mission of Prince Dapo Abiodun led-adminstration is to improve citizens' confidence and trust in government, improving human capital development, developing and enhancing the value chain for the abundant resources for the purpose of galvanizing economic and social development and improving the ease of doing business.
"We are gathered here in Yewa today essentially to interact and cultivate the people's input, suggestion towards achieving good governance, and we assure you that government is deeply committed to giving our people a better livelihood ".
The representative of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Yewa division,, Comrade Olamilekan Yusuff in his response applauded the present administration for cooperating with Lagos State Government to take over the rehabilitation of the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway, calling on the government to look into the incessant increase of tuition fees in tertiary institutions in the State.
Representative of people living with disability in the zone, , Mr. Mulero Makinde urged the government to address the discrimination to its members, and should come to their aid in completing the Computer building and Vocational centers in the area.
Also, the Iyaloja-General of Yewa, Mrs. Yemisi Abbas, who talked about formulating policies that would cut across and affect all categories of its citizens, calling on the State Government to ensure that Market traders are constituted into Board appointments, and should help address the acceptability of the Health insurance intervention in General Hospitals across the division.
Other major requests harvested from the zone include massive rural road developments, affordable housing schemes, empowerment initiatives for all, resuscitation of abandoned water schemes among others.
At least some of the 188 projects should have been listed, the report requires more information to make creditable.
