THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES on Thursday scrapped the budgetary N5hn allocation of the presidential yatch and moved the amount to the proposed student loan thereby increasing the allocation for student loan to 10bn as against .N5bn
The Chairman of the House of Representatives on Appropriations Hon Abubakar Bichi Abubakar disclosed this while addressing newsmen after Plenary season
. He said the need became necessary following low budgetary allocation for students .
He added that the Committee also increased budgetary allocation of Ministry of Defence from 476bn to 546bn following security concerns
Bichi also further explained that the minimum wage for workers was considered and approved for onward transmission to the Executive while promising proper legislative oversight to ensure 100 percent implementation
The sum of 100bn was retained for Federal Capital Territory, FCT as requested by the Minister of FCt Nyesom Wike
He stated that ro this end the House passed the sum of N2.177 trn supplementary budget as requested by the President
