THE NIGERIA UNION OF JOURNALISTS,(NUJ), Ogun State Council has commiserated with the family of Iyalode Alaba Lawson, the Egba Council of Chiefs, the people if Oke Ona Egba and entire Yoruba race on the demise of their patroness, Iyalode Alaba Lawson, the Iyalode of Yoruba land, Iyalode of Egba land and Iyalode of Oke Ona Egba.
Iyalode Alaba Lawson, the Council's matron, according to the press statement made available to thedispatch Saturday and signed by the Secretary of Ogun State NUJ, Comrade Bunmi Adigun, died early hour of Saturday.

With rude shock and devastated heart, the Nigeria Union of Journalists Ogun State Council received the death of our Matron, Chief Alaba Oluwaseun Lawson which occurred in the early hours of Saturday, October 28th, 2023, aged 72 years.
A foremost educationist with unparallel records, Iyalode was a colossus that made significant impacts on the sand of time and history will not forget her contributions.
At Ogun NUJ, her counsels and words of wisdom would remain indelible as she was a unifying factor that consistently rally journalists when opportunity beckons.
We, therefore commiserate with the Yoruba race, Ogun State and Lawson family on this irreplaceable loss of a woman on enigma who conquered every business opportunity at her disposal.
We pray God to grant the Lawson family fortitude to bear the loss and grant her eternal rest.
