SENATOR NATASHA AKPOTI-UDUAGHAN has firmly rejected rumours suggesting she accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of transferring ₦500 million to her account to facilitate a meeting at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.

The senator representing Kogi Central labeled the allegations as baseless fabrications intended to hoodwink the public and tarnish her reputation.

In an official statement made available to thedispatch in Abuja Tuesday, Akpoti-Uduaghan categorically denied ever making such claims, affirming that no such financial transaction occurred.

“Let me be explicit: I have never received ₦500 million or any amount from Senator Akpabio. At no point did I suggest anything of the sort. This is a malicious falsehood designed to stir unnecessary controversy,” she stated.

She expressed grave concern over the rising tide of misinformation and politically charged falsehoods, urging the public to dismiss the unfounded claims. Akpoti-Uduaghan warned that disseminating lies for personal or political gain poses a serious threat to the nation’s democratic ideals.

“It is regrettable that some individuals resort to such blatant dishonesty. I implore Nigerians to verify information before accepting or propagating it,” she added.

Moreover, the senator challenged those behind the rumours to present credible evidence supporting their accusations, reiterating her commitment to integrity and accountability in public affairs. “Such fabrications are intolerable. My priority is to serve my constituents with transparency and dedication, not to get sidetracked by unfounded allegations,” she asserted.

Akpoti-Uduaghan called on law enforcement agencies to investigate the origins of the misinformation and take appropriate action against those responsible. She reaffirmed her dedication to the principles of truth and justice, declaring, “Defamation and character assassination have no place in our society. I trust that the truth will ultimately prevail.”
