The wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, has called for a total lockdown in Nigeria.
Aisha made the call in Abuja, Monday morning, after Nigeria recorded the first death by the dreaded virus, Covid 19, and NCDC confirmed five new cases of coronavirus.
To confirm her fear, former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, personally confirmed that one of his sons tested positive for coronavirus.
The former Vice President stated this on his Twitter page on Sunday, saying his son has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist hospital Abuja for treatment and management.
He wrote, “My son has tested positive to coronavirus. @NCDCGov has been duly informed, and he has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment and management.
“I will appreciate it if you have him in your prayers. Stay safe, coronavirus is real.”
Aisha Buhari also took to her Twitter page on March 20, disclosing that her daughter who just returned from the UK has been self-isolated according to instructions from the Ministry of Health and would remain so for 14 days.

In conformity with Federal government directive, the First Lady, Aisha Buhari, has also directed the immediate shutdown of her office for two weeks as part of preventive measures against the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The wife of the President has commended the state governors for closing down schools but enjoined the State governments to extend stay at home order to all parents too.
Her post read: “It is commendable that state governors have closed down schools; however, this could be counterproductive if parents are still going to work.
“We should not isolate students and expose their parents. Let us remember that they will meet at home.”
At the moment, Nigeria has 36 cases of coronavirus as Edo records its first case of COVID-19.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday confirmed five new cases of coronavirus, two in FCT, two in Lagos and one in Edo States.
Recall that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday confirmed three new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Lagos State and one in Abuja. This brings the total number of patients with the disease to 30 in Nigeria.
