THE SPECIAL ADVISER ON SECURITY to the Governor of Ogun State, Rtd. AIG Olushola Subair, has taken a bold step towards creating a violence-free environment in the state by inaugurating the Partnership Against Violence Extremism (P.A.V.E) Committee.

The inauguration ceremony took place at the Special Adviser's office in Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, with the aim of fostering collaboration between security agencies and civil society organisations focused on promoting peace and security in the state.

AIG Olushola Subair emphasized that the security of the nation is not only the responsibility of the government but also of every citizen. He underscored the commitment of the Ogun State Government, led by Governor Dapo Abiodun, CON, to ensuring the safety and protection of its people. The government will not tolerate any form of violence, kidnapping, and/or terrorism, and will prioritize both internal and environmental security.

Dr. Michael Femi Sodipo, the founder of Peace Initiative Network, spoke on behalf of the civil society organisations involved in the committee. He expressed the urgent need to address and eliminate violence in the state, pledging full cooperation with partners to achieve this goal.

Other members of the P.A.V.E Committee include Comrade Ige Olayinka, Director of the National School Crime Prevention Corps, and Liberator Folake Ade-Adeniji, State Chairperson of Stand Up For Women Society (S.W.S).

The inauguration of this committee marks a significant step towards creating a safer and more peaceful environment in Ogun State, demonstrating a united front against violence and extremism.
