Abeokuta: Our REPORTER. Publised, July 12, 2020
THE OGUN STATE GOVERNMENT, in its bid to eradicate flash-floods in the State capital Abeokuta has exended the ongoing construction of Panseke-Adigbe Road to the popular Opako Bridge along Obada Road.
The perennial destruction of the retaining walls would be permanently stopped by the time the extension was completed.
The Panseke-Adigbe road, about 500 metre long was initially awarded and started by Governor Ibikunle Amosun's administration toward the tail end of the tenure.
Governor Abiodun, however, has instructed the contractors to extend the drainage to the Opako bridge to ensure proper flow and channeling of water.
Site engineers and excavators were sighted at the bridge as of Saturday to put washed off materials back in place to make the road motorable until the drainage work reaches it.
The State Government pleads with road users and residents to cooperate with engineers while the construction lasts at the location
