AT LEAST 20 people have been shot at a teenager’s birthday party in Dadeville, Alabama, a state in the United States of America.

The shooting incident happened at a dance studio around 10:30 pm on Saturday.

According to BNO News, Elizabeth White, a reporter for a local TV station, said more than 20 people had been shot, some of whom died.

The platform said a graphic photo shared by a witness showed that at least six teenagers – victims – were on the ground.
While a second witness said the total number of victims was higher and added that white sheets were covering the bodies at the scene.

The platform reported that the Tallapoosa County Coroner’s Office confirmed that multiple people died in the shooting.
Relatives of the victims were heard screaming in grief as they were told about what happened.

At the time of filing this report, the exact number of casualties cannot be ascertained.

Gun violence is no longer a new trend in the US, the country has witnessed multiple shootings in schools, supermarkets and other public places over the past few years.

In January, a 16-year-old boy was killed and four other male students injured after a shooting incident at a Baltimore shopping centre in the US.

The shooting took place outside Popeyes and Rita’s Italian Ice, a restaurant in the shopping centre, which is across the street from the victims’ school — Edmondson-Westside High School.

In February, a gunman killed three people and wounded five others at Michigan State University (MSU) in the US.
