The highest court in Nigeria has put a pay to a 9-month long election litigation, today, Friday, in Abuja by giving it's final judgement, saying the election complaints raised by the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Hon. Olaipupo Adebutu, a one time member of the Federal House of Representatives in the Third Republic and PDP lacked merits.
Justice Tijani Abubakar, the lead Justice of the 5-man panel of the Supreme Court, who read the unanimous judgement ruled that both PDP and it's candidate failed to convince the Court that the March 18 governorship election in Ogun State mas married by election malpractice and violence that led to the cancellation of more than 90 poling units across the State.
No cost was awarded against the appellants as the court said all the parties should bear their costs.
