ALLEGED OPEBI LAND GRABBING: Politicians, Lawyer, Family Secretary Petitioned to AIGP, Police Zone 2


Mr. Johnson Kokumo, AIGP, Police Zone 2, Onikan, Lagos

The Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIGP, Zone 2 has received the petition of Prince Shola Fagbohun, representative of Mike Daley Investment Limited allegedly accusing Pastor Folarin  Mathew Igbasan, the Opebi family confidential secretary, and Laura Odukoya of Laura Odukoya and Co for perpetrating sundry crimes in order to steal the 68 plots of land belonging to Merssrs. Mike Daley Investment Limited .


In the petition written by Aare Oladotun Hassan of Juryman Associate Chambers before AIG Johnson Kokumo, the duo, Pastor Michael Igbasan and his lawyer, Laura Odukoya were alleged to have criminally conspired to subvert  justice, engage in unprofessional gross misconduct, impersonation, deceit, conceit, compliciity, intimidation, duress, high handedness, criminal trespass, threatening violence, land fraud/grabbing, abuse of privilege position as family confidential  Secretary and stealing of vital information to process fictitious Lagos State Certificate of Occupancy and land title under suspicious circumstances.


Among those allegedly being used to perpetrate the land feist according to the petition were highly politically exposed Mrs. Kemi Nelson, Prince Dele Ajomale, former Lagos State Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), principal heads of Lagos State Government and some high ranking Nigerians who have been allegedly bribed with part plots of the 68 plots of land at Odogbo Opebi community, off Osho Street, Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos.

Chief Mrs. Kemi Nelson, former Lagos State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation 1999-2003 implicated in land feist.


According to petition Chief Micheal Akin Osiyemi, the Chairman of Mike Daley Investment Limited is the  bona fide owner of the landed properties at Odogbo/Opebi Community, off Osho Street, Opebi Ikeja and his representative, Prince Shola Fagbohun has the power of Attorney to superintendent over the disputed land.

Pastor Mathew Igbasan, identified as the "family confidential secretary" in the petition,  was said to have clandestinely used his position and access to Opebi Family's confidential information and documents particularly land documents with the  intention to circumvent and conspired with some highly placed political bigwigs in Lagos State led by Mrs. Kemi Nelson, Prince Dele Ajomale former Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), other principal heads of government and related high ranking persons alike in Nigeria who the said Igbasan has benefitted with free issuance of land plots as a means to fraudulently use them to gain unfettered access to the Lagos State Government and to fraudulently use the government to  issue Certificate of Occupancy and other ancillary supports for him,  Igbasan.


For the resistance of the representative, Prince Shola Fagbohun, Pastor Michael Igbasan in cahoot with Laura Odukoya and the politically exposed and government official cohorts have unleashed Lagos State Task Force and other unlawful means in order to forcefully dispossessed the Opebi Egba Refugees Family, Amore and Osu Families that sold to Mike Daley Investment Limited the 68 plots of land at Odogbo Opebi community, Ikeja, Lagos.


The peitioners urges the good offices of AIG Johnson Kokumo to accelerate investigation and prosecution inclusive the protection of the lives of the Opebi family and Prince Fagbohun and restrain the use extrajudicial means against the bona fide owners of the disputed land.
