A PDP HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES ASPIRANT in Abeokuta North/Odeda/ Obafemi-Owode Federal Constituency has bemoaned the state of local government authorities, the third tier of government in Nigeria, blaming Prince Dapo Abiodun for worsening their situations since he took over about three years ago.
Hon Abiodun Oni who's vying for the federal constituency of Abeokuta North/Odeda/Obafemi-Owode, said local government level of government has become a place where federal revenue allocation is share monthly.
He urges the people of Ogun State to vote overwhelmingly his party, Peoples Democratic Party in 2023, calling on all PDP members in Ogun State and Nigeria to unite and work assiduously to defeat the ruling APC.
Abiodun Oni said gone were the days when local government councils would grade all feeder roads in the rural areas, lamenting the state of the rural roads in his Obafemi-Owode Local Government area.
The House of Representatives aspirant calls on PDP party leaders to work in unison and cooperate to effectively drive out APC from the federal and State governments.
He further enjoins PDP leaders to create level play ground for all contestants and allow the best and most popular candidates to emerge, adding that only this fair play could lead the party to victory because the primaries would less acrimonious and crisis free.
Hon. Oni warns that imposition of candidates would keep any political party that engages in it out of power, saying he won't tolerate the 2011 incident when his victory at the party primary was taken away from him and given to a candidate who defeated at the primary.
He said his ambition to represent his constituents at the Federal House of Representatives was anchored on good and effective representation that would enhance dividends of democracy for the people.
He solicits the support of all PDP leaders and members to vote for him at the primary, saying he has what it takes to defeat anybody that APC might presents, adding that as the son of the soil who had his party school at Luga village in Odeda Local Government, winning the election proper won't be difficult.
