TRACE may arrest disobedience drivers, riders, as begins campaign exercise to contain Covid-19


OGUN STATE Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) begins massive enlightenment campaign for commercial transport operators on the need to comply with the State government advisory to contain the deadly disease Covid-19 in the State.
The TRACE Corps Commander, ‘Seni Ogunyemi, told the land transport operators that tricycle should carry only two passengers, Okada rider should carry only one passenger, while taxi driver should carry two passengers at the back and one at the front, saying  this during the sensitization exercise at parks across Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government.
He said the government made this order to encourage social distancing among passengers and commuters in order to prevent the spread of the disease.
The TRACE boss advised union leaders to embark on subjecting drivers, conductors, as well as passengers to temperature check and ensure any abnormality was reported immediately to appropriate authorities before embarking on any trip.
The Commander further said drivers and conductors should also wear hand gloves and nose masks while the trips last, saying these measures apply to all vehicles owners, either commercial or private, adding that  erring commercial transport operator would be arrested and face the wrath of disobedience of the government order.
