THE OLU OF LISA, Oba Nojeemdeen Oladele Odugbemi, has urged journalists to always be fair, accurate, and objective in their reporting for the benefit of the country.
During a recent visit from the executive members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, and National Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, in Ogun state, Oba Odugbemi emphasised the importance of media practitioners as the fourth estate of the realm and their role in shaping society through their reporting.
He urged journalists to exercise their constitutional roles responsibly, promote developmental journalism, and adhere to the principles of their profession.
In another development during a radio station interview in Lagos, the monarch appealed to the Ogun State and federal governments to address the long-abandoned Ijoko-Lisa road, which has negatively impacted both the local residents and the families of the victims of the Bellview crash that occurred 19 years ago.
It should be recalled that the Bellview aircraft that took off at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos crashed at Lisa town and the entire passengers and crew numbering 117 were killed in the crash 19 years ago.
Oba Odugbemi highlighted the need for a passable road to improve the livelihoods of the people in the area and increase government revenue.
